Service Description
Time: 4:30-6:00pm Duration: 1hr 30mins Dates: 10th Jan-28th March 2025 Half term: 14th & 21st Feb 2025 NO SESSION Location: Battersea Park All Weather Pitch Our Technical Friday session emphasises is on technical development, learning to master the ball, building confidence, refining technique and efficiency, particularly turns, ball striking and 1v1 skills which much of this is achieved with technical practices (passive pressure) and combined with opposed practices, focusing on decision making and skills execution under pressure. We believe that our players will greatly benefit from the extra technical session per week as technical development is extremely important at younger age and should be a huge part of their development diet. Arsene Wenger, who is known for nurturing and developing young players and the most notable of those successes remains Cesc Fabregas and Jack Wilshere. Wenger was interviewed and gave his thoughts on the best way to educate young footballers. Wenger outlined the importance of focusing on technique in the Foundation Phase with players aged 5-12. Like Wenger. Technique is a habit and good habits are developed with specific practices (break down of technical skill) and continuous repetition as the brain constantly strives for more efficiency, quickly transforming as many task and behaviours as possible into habits. The 1 hour and half sessions are split into a technical warm up, then five technical stations which will be run as carousel in appropriate age groups per week. Ages 5-12
